I'm posting this for a friend in the hope someone can help.
This car was bought by her Grandad from new and given to her when he stopped driving. It was parked in her driveway on the corner of Beaconsfield Rd and Humber Rd in Blackheath for a couple of years awaiting funds to restore.
On 10th Feb between 0630 and 1700, some low life removed it. Probably lifted as it had 4 flat tyres.
It is Tahiti blue has a fairly decent original interior and original bodywork complete with AA badge on the grille.
Reg: PGK 695P
Chassis: XL2SIN251915A??
Engine: 99H 792PH5973
29,126 miles from new!!!
If anyone can help in anyway, there is a reward being offered. It really means a lot to her and her family and it would be great to find it somehow.
Thanks!
James.

I'd check all the local car scrap yards - if you are quick enough it might not have been scrapped.
Did the neighbors see anything, it would take a good few mins to load it, if not how about CCTV somewhere close by?

Local scrappers probably, Check the metal yards and container yards too.

I thought scrapyards required photo id and a V5 before they touched anything, or is that not really enforced? I guess if it is at a dodgy scrap company, if I pop in they'll probably just deny all knowledge of it being there.

I dont think they require the V5 and the ID is to prevent both theft and money laundering - so if somebody has a hookey ID and it looks legit then they will do the trade. I think the issue you might have is where you are located ... lots and lots of yards offering recycling services. Maybe your friend can have a word with the police and ask some advice where to look (off the record, use the sob sob I'm so upset trick) ...they will have a good insight into where someone might try and scrap it but limited manpower to actually go and visit.

Very grateful for all the tips guys. I've currently got my own 89 mini tucked away at home stripped to a bare shell awaiting a rebuild. I will certainly be hiding a tracker in it before I take it anywhere.

Blackheath as in West Midlands?
No way this has been scrapped. Wouldn't have got them 80 quid!

No, Blackheath in London SE3.

So sorry to hear this. Really hope she gets it back, I think it will be an even bigger loss because of its sentimental value too.
