It's not going to be cheap, my advice is to put your mum/dad on as a second driver as long as they have no convictions/offences etc.

I am with Diamond, they're like a sister company of admiral. When I first insured my mini they were far cheaper. Had a friend who claimed through them and they were great.
+ 1 on Twincam's post - put Mum/Dad or anyone similar that has had their licence for a good time making sure they have a clean licence. I have both my Mum and Dad on mine which did bring the price down. Plus whenever I am home they love to take the mini out for a spin!

recently insured my 17 year old lad when he passed his test. £920ish with Sainsburys, fully comp.
Adding me (dad) as a named driver INCREASED the premium by over £400. Go figure!

Also, if you are prepared to wait a month after you pass until you get insurance and start driving it often drops it loads! Weird :/ would have been £200 less for me but I was impatient ;)

Have a look on the comparisons sites, I got the cheapest with admiral via compare the market. ask if the insurance company does agreed evalutaion as this made mine insurance go down by £450 and made my mini worth £2000 rather than £200 which they put it at. There's a couple of young drivers insurance threads on here with some good tips. having a black box doesn't always make the price go down, where the cars kept changes it. it also depends on modifications on the mini.
If you want notifications you'll need to follow the thread in the top right, and maybe change your notification settings.

I'm with go girl (sounds great I know haha) I am 21 but was 20 when I passed so was my first insurance too and cane to about 1000. I found adding a named driver really helped.

im with go girl too!! Im 20 and not a girl! :-\. My renewal is due next month and i had a great quote through compare the market with flux direct. Might be worth looking at both of these. I have always found so called classic specialists very expensive for some reason dispite not having anything against me that would normally put insurance up.

if your insurance is anything like mine was (a nightmare) you will be stuck with admiral and its sister companies.
bottom line is almost everything you input will change the value of your insurance premium e.g. job title, car, annual mileage etc.
try adjusting those things until you get a price your happy with. Obviously the information you give must be correct or your insurance will be invalid.
