I have now received my Power Boost Valve (sexy name for an adjustable fuel regulator!!!) and am looking to fit it over the holiday period.
Can you post up your installations so I have an idea of where I can mount it?
Seen one installation by Tony Kenobi who just left it loose up by the wiper motor (http://www.theminifo...ic=106406&st=15) but would like to see other alternatives?

The MPi engine bay is pretty cluttered and I guess there arn't that many other places you could fit it?

in principle then its just the same. for the record its nice and easy to use - just make sure you put the gauge in a position where you can read it - not like I did first attempt. :withstupid:

Yes, it's in and working now, left it loose but trapped between the engine steady bar (ultimate) and wiper motor up in that corner. Once I have it set up correctly I will look to mount it more permanantly.
I'll snap a photo of it tomorrow and post it up.

Now i seem to have a problem and i think its related to the adjustable reg. Ive been taking the new engine for a few small trips up and down the road to see how its feeling. All was fine untill i noticed if you push it beyond 3000rpm, it coughs and splutters, like its being starved of something, my guess, fuel! So i adjusted it to fuel slightly more, no difference. Im thinking you have to be very accurate with the adjustment of this regulator, so i look forward to seeing your results from the rolling road you mentioned nick, or anyone elses figures on the fuel pressure for an MPI.

Unfortunately I'm in bed with "Man Flu" so can't even take photos of my set up (but basically identical to yours), never mind take it for a run!!!

The short run I did make when it was first installed was still pulling up to 5,000rpm so I don't anticipate any problems? I was a bit concerned about the pressure readings which all appeared to be low but was thinking it might just settle down after a good run?

I did not get the screaming sound of air purge you did on initial power up even though the whole rail was empty (having had it all off to fit reconned injectors) which was suprising?

Rolling road will have to wait a bit as I'm a bit skint after christmas (got the credit card statement yesterday = bloody hell).

have you had your injectors checked?

I'll keep you posted on progress.

No, injectors are the same as beofre the rebuild, but only had 32,000 miles on them, i had them off when the manifold was away geting opened out, and they looked fine.
Man flu, good luck. I spent the whole day laying under the mini looking for an oil leak, bloody freezing.
Ill keep ya posted as well.
Happy New Year by the way! One of trouble free mini motoring (i hope)

was looking to put one of these on my MPi but have no idea where to start lol
did you manage to get yours running properly or did you have to get it dyno tested?

hi ya, yeah well i had my injectors off to be cleaned, then replaced all the o rings in the fuel rail and injectors. then i closed the return feed pipe of properly, but still no joy. then i was told it was only running on 2 cylinders, so new leads and plugs have been fitted, and im yet to test it, but so far its all looking ok (touch wood).
They are easy enough to fit as long as you dont mind cutting a few pipes and understand what goes where, but if you need help, im sure we can help you here.
I will have to get it to a rolling road tho to get it 100%.

Thanx

Mine's running a lot better but I think the Throttle Body (original plastic crap) was playing a part as it looked a bit manky and the butterfly wasn't closing fully. Gave it a good clean and freed everything up, ordered a 52mm one from MiniSport but not yet arrived!!! Got new K&N Filter (as yours) to fit at the same time, then on to the rollers for a tweek!!

Thought I'd posted these? Maybe it was in another thread, maybe I just dreampt I did, what the hell, here they are again or not???

Is it worth getting one of these with just a stage 1 kit? What kind of BHP gain could i get?? Still considering a bigger throttle body, but cost a bit much!
