am converting mates suck through carb set up to injection for him will be good to see the differances in performance and mpg

so far collected the car last night removed the inlet tract and carb ( theses will be for sale as a complete unit ) and made up new inlet tract to take a mpi throttle body

will use 3 injecters 2 standard mpi ones ans a 3rd one from rover 220 as 3rd one will just be used to make sure there is enough fuel avalible if needed

had some injecter bosses made to hold the injectors and will be welded in where is held in pic one in front of pipe one behind on the mounting face 3rd injector will be in the bend of the inlet tract

will put up more pics as go waiting for trigger wheels etc to turn up

Looks interesting.

Have you considered moving the throttle body closer to the s/c to reduce some of the problems with having the carb so far from the s/c??

The air fuel mix freezing inbetween the carb and the blower. Common problem with this kind of setup

not been a problem on my prevous two supercharged engines gets cold but never caused any issues

plus there is no carb its a throttle body air only ,the fuels going straight into the supercharer via injecters

I suspect you may need to play a lot with the transient fuelling.
My boosted engine has injectors closer and minimal plenum volume and the transient fuelling was still very tricky to map out.

Hey Stig,

Those injector ports look real smart, where did you get them from ? :(

If its freezing it is also making the gas / air mixture denser thus more going in :)

finnally managed to do some work on car today after being in hospital

fitted mpi fuel lines to car ,fitted adjustable pressure regulater,

fitted bottom pullt with trigger wheel

removed dizzy and fitted blanking plug

refitted exahust manifold and super charger

made fitting from temp sender exstention nut and outlet pipe flange ,welded together so that the water temp sensor fits where water tap used to be now using a metro samwich plate on thermostat housing to run the water pipr to heater

list of things to do

1 make mount for crank postion sensor
2 run wire for fuel pump to tank from ecu
3 plumb in injectors
4 run engine loom to injectors and sensors
5 fit tank and fuel filter
6 mount ecu
7 load timing and fuel map

think thats it bound to be something else though

Stig, Slightly OT, quite bizarrely was just looking at the 36-1 on trigger-wheels, once fitted do you have to space the fan pulley out by the same thickness to keep them in-line? Assuming that's what you've used?
