OK, so I've been going to Le Mans with a small group of friends (has grown to around 15 now) every year since 2005. It's a top laugh and a great little road trip, and the camping antics are good fun. Anyway, I'm sure you lot know what it's all about.

So next year we've got tickets for the Bleu Nord campsite (usually in Beausejour, stayed in Houx too which was good) and I was wondering if anyone else from TMF was going? I've seen a white Min (1980s era?) there a few times, as well as a group of 3 later sportpack types that seem to stick together. There was also a grey van with a straight cut box there last year, didn't spot it this year.

Anyway, I've been meaning to mention it for ages and I'm planning on driving the Clubby down next year, would be cool to meet up with some other Mini fanatic for some antics and croissants.

I know I've not been very active on the forums here over the past year :teehee: but I'm getting into it I promise! Had a quick look for Le Mans info but the search doesn't like the word "Le" so apologies if there's a thread for this somewhere else...

Cov is about 40 mins up the M6, that would be pretty cool. Are you driving down in Minis then? Only trouble is, we're planning on going down the weekend before to get there for the Monday to get a good spot. Apparently facilities are a bit thin on the ground that early on so most people show up from Wednesday onwards (which is what we've done in the past).

Perhaps we should go for the biggest showing of Minis ever! Have a bit of a parade on Mad Friday? :D

I believe it is, a few friends of mine were talking about going. How is the classic? I always thought it would be a bit more quiet and a bit of an older crowd, not that that's necessarily a bad thing. I like the madness and the crowds and the shenanigans that usually go along with Le Mans.

Yes smellygeekboy, we are all going down in our mini's. Not overly sure on the dates yet, the best people to PM are MarkyZee or BenH as they are arranging it for our club.

After looking at the pictures from 2009 in one of the links Kam posted, i now can't wait to go :gimme: :P

If I can get my rebuild finished in time then I'm planning to go to Le Mans this year. I've been twice before but not for a few years now (12 to be precise!).
I'm currently part way through a total shell up rebuild of a 1972 mini that I've had in pieces in the garage for far too long now and I decided that I needed a target to finish. I was hoping there would be someone from here going - It's always handy to know there is someone else who knows their way around a spanner somewhere nearby when you go on a long trip in a mini!

You've got the same deadline as me then - get mini to Le mans again like last year ;)

If I can't make it in the mini then I'll have to take the "family car" ok loads more room but still!!!!

^^^^^^^^^^ Thats gotta be incentive enough to finish it I think

Havnt posted under here for a while but the trip is still happening for those who wish to join, would be great to see some tmf'ers and would be even better to show the minis off on the silly friday. thats when everyone chucks water and water bombs at all the cars to get them to do wheelspins. Was thinking that i could have a few guys sitting on my rollcage out of the full length webasto sunroof with supersoakers, and do a drive by!
last year some piston head guys took an army jeep over with a water cube on a trailor hooked up to a fire engine type hose mounted on the roof of the jeep and completly K.O'd anyone that dared to throw water at them aha!
The minis get loads of attention down there with all the british tourists!

Was that by the pistongheads gulf coloured bus that was kicking out the tunes? Think it was by Expo campsite? There was some water bomb/wheelspin malarky going on there, was fun

thatd be wicked, i wouldnt feel so bad if there were more minis, at least if someone has a problem you wouldnt be on your own. i think one of our lads is taking a van full of spares and i think im gonna take my passenger seat out to fit all my luggage in!
