Cor Katie living on the street god forgive, I'd never hear the end of it, its bad enoug she lived i the drive for the last 4 months, while there was ******* in my garage.

You can't put Matilda in a garage as I won't be able to wave at her when I pass her

I know she needs somehwere dry to sleep for the night ;) . I'm an unfit minimother. I've been on the council waiting list for a garage for over a year now, and I still can't find a private rental nearby. She'll just have to be rebuilt sooner rather than later. Poor Matilda. :X

s_robinson91 - I have PMd you the costs....

ESAB - Thank you very much. :D They are W&P diamond cut anthracite alloys (12" x 5"). Although they are rather similar to other brands if you ask me.... :D

I actually did some work on my car myself!! >_< But only because one really can not find the staff these days so one is forced to stoop to the level of performing manual tasks. Oh my poor lily-whites.........

Not sure how useful the Doctor Who tubes are going to be, but they're shiny so they stay for the time being.

Trying to get Matilda's new door escutcheons on, but I can't get the lock out of the door. Four main screws undid fine, but no amount of wiggling will get the lock out of the door so I can get access to the crew holding the handle on. Am I missing a trick here, please?

Yeah there are 2 bar connected to that lock one for the dorr handle inner, and one to lock it, both are connected via circlips, and are total gits to remove and refit.

Your have to take the door card of to start with

Yep, the latch is connected to the mechanism inside the door. There's also a screw in to the the front end of the handle. Never fitted escutcheons, but if they go behind the handle you'll have to remove the door card.

What?!!
Really? Just to get the escutcheons on??!!!
B*gger that for a game of soldiers. >_< I think I'll wait til she has new locks. Is there no way of loosening the handles without removing the door cards, just enough to slip the escutcheons in underneath?

You should be able to slacken that screw by holding the latch out of the way with the inner door handle. But remember the front end of the handle is screwed to the door, so might not take much to dent the door by levering the handle out to slip 'em in. I'd wait if you're gonna be fitting new locks anyway.
