Im thinking I need a paddock basher. Preferably a Mini, 'modded' to look a bit like the one in my pic. :D Would love that.

My god. The the crank is saveable, the block is saveable, the gearbox is servicable and the valves are almost pristine. These A-Series engines are tough little buggers!

I honestly don't know how my engine was running at all... All pistons rings were shot with #3 piston being held together only by dark matter... Main bearings and big-ends were rougher than a cheese grater, and had attacked the crank very violently. Some bright spark had also managed to crossthread the flywheel bolt all the way in and the gearbox was full of iron shavings. Mind = blown.

It had a piece of black tape over the oil pressure gauge because it had no pressure. Nothing at all. I wonder why... :P

At least something didn't seize and then chuck a rod through the block. Seen that before - it wasn't pretty!

Mum's getting quite angry at my idea of storage. Turns out that panels for cars live in the garage, and clothes live in the wardrobe. Not the other way round. What is this witchcraft?

Apparently the spare room is for guests and not mini parts I found out last night...

The doors, bonnet, boot and rear windows will not fit under my bed. And anyway. It's full of many other items of uselessness that I have collected over the years, all hidden from Mother. :P Our spare room is also Dad's office, so that's full of many (now useless) computer bits. Problem is, even though we have a 'double garage' (in other words it is possible to get 2 cars in if you try REALLY hard), there is only room for the shell of the mini plus the rest of our crap that...

My mate walked into the garage today, and said, "I thought you had a Mini in here!: I said, "Well, I have most of a Mini in here. The doors, boot and bonnet are in my wardrobe, but the rest is somewhere in here... Under the bench I think"

My teacher gave me a lift home the other night from babysitting. On the way home we got talking about my mini, and he basically said, "why don't you sell it and get one in good condition?" Nooooo no no no no! That's no fun!

Argh! Anybody in NZ have a flywheel puller? Anybody at all? I don't think progress could have stopped any quicker than it it did haha.
