Good news! My mini is ready for paint. Bad news... Where I live there is only 1 place that can do it, and he's generally quite busy. However, all I am waiting on is painting, then I can put it back together! Nearly there now.

My shell is now solid!!! Just gotta get it ready for paint now!!! And rebuild a subframe, and the engine. Then it's certification time and then done!!!!!! Nearly there!

Dad's looking for a Mini Van as his work car. He spotted one, solid but in need of work, (in other words a blank canvas) for about 1.5k GBP. And didn't buy it. "I don't have anywhere to put it." Excuses I reckon. You cross that bridge when you get to it...

After a year and 4 months of thinking, I have finally come up with a name for my Mini. I've decided to call him Sebastian. Tell me what you think :)

I just want to say. ANYONE who is selling a Mini shell with some bodywork done on it, half the panels missing and no engine or wheels, don't try and sell it for the same price as a fully rego'd and MoT'd Mini in decent nick. You WON'T sell it.

It's a clubman shell haha. Also found one with the front section cut out with an angle grinder for engine accessability going for a similar price. I mean, COME ON

LOL! My mate just asked me, "Is it still legal to have a speedo in miles?" I'm like, "Mate. I have no reply for that."

I'd have kicked him out the car and said that a mini cannot tolerate that level of stupidity.

The law has changed. All cars must read in MM per hour. LOL. :)

Haha hmmm I shall tell him about washing lines. Unfortunately I couldn't kick him out of the car; he spotted the speedo in my wardrobe prior to refurbishment. LOL MM an hour grand haha

They delivered my package to some InPost thing (after saying they would be at house for 1400 hrs and showed up at 10am leaving a You were Not In card!) - I was looking for a shop, turned out to be some random automated locker thingy you punch code into and a door pops opens with your package, no more people involved - Im obvioulsy getting old!!!

Just spent $500 incluing freight on stuff from MiniSpares. That should get me about halfway to a road legal car!

Was kind of hoping to have the engine running for the school ball intending to drive a Mini with no doors etc on it round. Unfortunately, none of the required parts have turned up yet. It's in 3 weeks...

Does anyone else have something REALLY against automatics? Or is it just me? Even our Peugeout with it's 'Porsche' gearbox feels, although nice, smooth and very good, a bit like the driver isn't really driving. Anyone else feel like that?

If you're doing 25000 miles a year with work. Getting stuck in traffic and crawling along motorways - boring (sorry 9 speed auto) is good.

I can understand that. I would probably consider it if i was in that position but for now, i like the feel of a manual more

I have no choice with my next car as they're all autos, however as I'm now doing more long distance and town driving its damn useful to have!
