Nice! So what do you think so far?

Think they're awesome. I feel higher up in the car but it feels better. Having a headrests and side bolsters is such an improvement :)

Been thinking about a new Mini. Perhaps a red one and spray the wheels grey to match my real Mini. I'd need a sticker that says "I Have a Real Mini At Home".

Binis are cool :) I like the idea of making it like your classic and I had a sticker on the back of my saying 'my other car is an original mini'
Aug 02 2015 06:59 PM -
Corey96Williams
I might do that when the time comes :)

Does Supreme Unleaded do any more good to an old engine than regular? I work at a petrol station and every single classic car that comes in fills up with Supreme.

My car was setup in 99 octane so that's what I try and run it on.

It just makes me happy to run mine on V-Power and avoid supermarket fuel as I know I'm giving my engine half decent fuel and not gumming it up with crap

Using cheap fuel, especially diesel, from petrol stations can cause problems. Stick to the best Shell petrol/diesel available. :)

My father keeps putting an oil drip tray under the car when I park it on the drive for the 2 black dots of oil you get every 24 hours. I pulled off without knowing and it got stuck between my wheel and arch, and cracked the arch!! Not a happy start to my day...

My dad did the same thing when I had my first mini. Which is why I moved out as soon as I could lol

My plan exactly, haha. He's the sort of person who will now complain about his flattened tray! Nevermind my bloody car!

Spent something like 4-5 hours show prepping the Mini with Auto Finesse wax and polish. Very pleased with the result :)

The show and shine section? :) Would be cool to see how it looks. What was the process that you followed in the detailing?

What's the best chrome polish? Everyone says Autosol but it seems to do next to nothing...

I don't suppose you have a brand new tub/pot of AF Mercury to sell too? Haha.
Jul 16 2015 09:20 PM -
ShaunaFTW
I have, AF is the worst metal polish I've used to be honest. It's got not cut at all

I find Autosol brilliant. I've also heard people rave about using Cola and tin foil. Never tried it, but apparently very good!

After spending a few hundred pounds on the Mini's MOT, it drives like a new car :)

what did it need?
Jun 26 2015 08:09 PM -

Everything, haha. Emmissions, exhaust leak, missing rear fog light, needed new brakes and they needed adjusting, corrosion and a list of advisories I wanted done :)

My Mini's first MOT tomorrow (With my ownership, of course). There's nothing wrong with it, but still a bit nerve racking.

The emissions were terrible too. But at least the car will be put right, and it's an opportunity to get a RC40/Maniflow that I always wanted :)

The key plus point there is that there was no mention of body corrosion issues, which is great news. I assume it is the back subframe which has been faulted, which isn't too bad a job.
Jun 06 2015 02:10 PM -
Corey96Williams
Yeah it is the rear subframe :)

My Mini's first classic car show tomorrow... I've been to tons of car shows, first time I'll be parked inside one!

I was more of a mass gathering than an organised show at Bristol Queens Square. It had absolutely everything there, from V8 Pickup Trucks to DeLorens. Much better than expected, loved it :)

Just had an impromptu race with a chav in a Fiesta across a mountain. The phrase "Corners like it's on rails" is definitely accurate!

haha, bet his girlfriend wishes she was with you and not that donut in his awful fiesta, i used to get it alot at the traffic lights in summer near me
Feb 05 2015 04:58 PM -

I was only having a gentle drive over the mountain, and I see this Fiesta approach me a bit too fast. A race he wanted and a race he got ;) I can't see me ever getting rid of it!

haha well good on you for showing him that classic minis still have it :D

48 hours into Mini ownership, and I find myself at a busy roundabout junction with my hazards on...

Yup same for me, about 40 mins after buying, conked out and had to join the AA there and then for £120 :D dodgy wire going to the coil, and it was at night in January!

Hehe oh been there. It's a treat. But taught me not to be scared of it braking down after a few hours at the side of the M1 haha.

I haven't owned it long, but I doubt it would see much motorway.
I've driven on a motorway only once in my Mini... Anything above 65 is a little nerve racking anyway haha.
