It's a bit suspicious that it's a 1 day listing. It limits peoples chances of viewing and makes people rush into bidding!

There's a lot of badly chavved Mini's on eBay at the moment, poor things...

-
Artful Dodger

Reminds me of a friend of mine who bought a really nice example of a sidewalk, no rot at all in the front, yet he cut all the front off and bodged a fiberglass flip that doesn't even flip, it just falls off...

Are spotlights a bit marmite? Personally I like them but seen a lot of people against them...

-
iDemonix
I'm not a fan of 2-up 2-down but I quite like 4 in a straight row.

I like spotlights on some, and not on others. :)

For me they are largely functional, being able to see better is invaluble

Travelled 160 mile to view a mini and didn't even get to feckin' view it :/

Heh, true advice if ever there was any. All that aside, can't wait to get me a mini - or any car at the moment >.<

I know how you're feeling, I'm just trying to use my experience to stop you making the same mistakes I (and alot of others) did.
There's a good Mini out there with your name on it.

Need to get a train to Newcastle today but still sait waiting for a viewing confirmation in Leicester >.<

iDemonix
Travelled 150 miles to my parents, hopefully viewing a mini tomorrow, if the bloke ever gets back to me! Hope he does, gotta go back to Newcastle tomorrow afternoon!

iDemonix
Mini I was watching ended with 0 bids, made him a realistic offer to be told he'd take what it didn't sell for minus £100... the search restarts!

Lol, I'm tempted to start running 2 eBay accounts just so I can message sellers offering 'em low prices repeatedly so they think it's worth less - had that happen to me a few times lol

Mini I'm looking at has a broken speedo - if it's gearbox end, how big a problem could it be? (Or how much could I knock off ;) )

iDemonix
Haha - "I'd take £1800 as that's what I paid for the car", "Well according to your eBay history you paid £1400..." - some people are planks lol

-
Artful Dodger

I would, but I'm hoping no one bids on it, then when it's failed to sell I can get back in touch with a "Told ya so, now sell it to me for 900 :P"

is £1500 too small a budget for an early-90's no-frills (but no rust) 998cc carb'd model?

-
MaxAndPaddy
The 'no rust' may be hoping for a bit too much...but theres some nice little minis on ebay at the moment within your budgethttp://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/austin-mini-abandoned-project-NO-RESERVE-/130612995851?pt=Automobiles_UK&hash=item1e6924270b

Hey Max, I'm after a manual as I'm not an auto fan. First and third is auto - the third is gorgeous though. Second one looks just the ticket, small project, think it might sell for out my budget though, contacting seller, ty!

Deathrow: how could they?
Dec 07 2011 05:30 PM -
Deathrow
In the event of a claim they'll do anything to avoid paying out. That includes proving that you drive the car more than the main driver.
I've heard of them asking people around where you live who they see driving the car most.
iDemonix, was your quote similar by any chance?
Dec 07 2011 08:21 PM -
Carlzilla
My policy is driving since 19, Tpf&t, my own car, my own policy with nobody else on, kept on my drive. I can't see how youre getting it that cheap off footman james. My first year at 19 was £534! it dropped by a few quid last year and my renewal went up this year by 60%.
