Right, my insurance runs out on my daily on the 9 of march. Im buying a new car monday but i cant insure it until i have the 2 years no claims from the policy that ends on the 9th of march. Can i insure my new car monday and then prove the no claims on the 9th of march as you get 30 days?

Anyone know of a good, cheap action cam for recording driving footage?

-
RooBoonix
I use a Contour camera for mountain biking and don't see why it wouldn't be any good for use in a car. Decent quality footage, good build quality and battery life is great (good few hours) if it ever gets unplugged. I have the Roam 2 model which was around £135 last year.

Also, there is a new GoPro out which is their cheaper model (Just the "Hero") which can be had for just under £100. Will probably be ok for the car too.

How long after an mot can you tax your car with the new laws? Can you just take the certificate to the post office straight after?

-
OhDear
Last year the wife's car was taxed with in five minutes of leaving the mot station

Can anyone measure their roll cage for me? Front foot to back foot so the height when its lying down? Thanks!

Moggyton
Question: will a rear roll cage with fixed diagonal fit in a passat estate?

-
Moggyton
Haha! Has anyone got the measurement for the widest part? From one foot to the other

If it fits in a mini, then I'd be mightily surprised if it doesn't fit in a Passat estate.

Quick question... My insurance runs out on the 27th and im not renewing. My tax runs out on the 31st. Is it ok to keep tax until the 31st and then declare the car sorn without it being insured?

-
Moggyton
Well the reason i ask is because its in a garage at the minute and he said he can drive it on his insurance aslong as i leave it taxed?
Dec 23 2014 06:20 PM -
Italianjob
No, your car has to have its own insurance and tax to be on the road. For example, I'm allowed to drive other cars with my insurance, but the cars must be insured and taxed by someone elsefor me to drive them. Unless the garage owner has trade plates hes driving it on?

I dont think he does but he said his insurance covers him to drive it

Best way to prime engine after an oil change? Should i just start it up or should i disconnect something to turn it over first?

-
tom1
If in doubt , whip the plugs out and turn it over on the key until the oil light goes out

All the plugs?
May 11 2014 01:46 PM

Are these plugs ok for a modified 1310? Not sure exactly what the compression is. They say for standard 1275s, does this matter? https://www.minispares.com/product/Classic/Electrics/Ignition/Spark_plugs/BP6ES.aspx?090805&ReturnUrl=/search/classic/BP6ES.aspx|Back to search

Is it worth replacing my 88 thermostat with an 82 or 74 if my engine is getting too hot?

-
Skortchio
An engine runs at its best around 88 degrees, my point is that if the car is overheating then there is an issue. Having the thermostat open sooner will only mask it.

Well i dont know if it is overheating, it just felt very hot to the touch
