Violet will sadly be declared SORN. Just until i have the time to do her properly before her MOT - really dont want a bodge job.

Good approach although a shame you have to take her off the road. At least you can strip the rear frame at leisure now.

i must be the only person in the world who isn't doing L2B and who isn't bothered about it!

-
lyndseyp27
i would just much rather go to an event where yuo can talk to people and have a wander and buy stuff as opposed to drive in the blistering heat (its meant to be a beauty of a weekend), mostly stuck in traffic to then stop, look at some mor eminis (that i've already seen) and drive back home. Its heaven for some people but just not me. The first night at Crtsyal palace (i think?!) sounds mint mind.

I've driven from Market Drayton to Brighton in a day in a mini so L2B has never really appealed to me that much.

Nope, I'm not bothered, and I grew up in Sussex and my friend was Secretary of LSMOC for a while too. I'm more bothered about never having been to the Goodwood Revival meeting or a trackday there than doing L2B.
Phil.

haven't had a run out in Violet for too long :( MOT this month (definiite fail) and just no time. Tax also runs out this month - to declare SORN until i have more time or to rush job it through an MOT.... ARGH!

If my experience is anything to go by your when you MOT your ford it will come back with a longer and more costly list of problems than a mini will. My Escort managed 18 failures 21 advisories. I didn't even make it as far as an MOT with the Mondeo.

Break out the haynes manual and the socket set then. A rear sub frame is not the hardest thing to change as long as your heal boards are in OK nick and you won't find that out until you remove the frame.

Devestated to hear about the death of Stephen Sutton. Yes it was going to happen and yes it was imminent, but it is such a shame for someone so full of life and so willing to help others to have passed. This boy is a massive inspiration and if you can, i urge you to donate just a little bit to his justgiving page. RIP Stephen.

its heartbreaking. Someone so full of life and with such a great outlook and willingness to put others first has lost their life, yet people who don't deserve to be here are still living soundly. i hate this.

I agree - life's for living - this guy obviously had an inspirational lust for life which has been tragically cut short. The message is simple - life's short - make the most of it!

Aldon in Brierley Hill? Although you may have to wait, as we had to wait 3 months before we could get in with the TVR, they were that busy.

My dad taught me the very basics on how an engine worked with a lego technic dune buggy when I was about 4 years old. The rest I learnt from RC planes and a haynes manual.

I think someone should come and collect my mini, replace te read subframe, sort out the dodgy welding on the sills, replace the bonnet, prep it for painting, paint it and bring it back to me (with a full tank of fuel) for free.... The satisfaction of a job well done and all that...yes? Any takers?

-

i dont want to buy the bits! im too tight lol. (i know i have to though). glad yours will be sorted soon!

Do it yourself and then you know it is done correctly. After the last "professional" service I had done on a car I am never letting anyone else work on any of my cars.

£176 for the vets to health check mother dog and 6 puppies - 30 min apt... i am so in the wrong business!

They charged £350 for an emergency (7:30 on a Wednesday night) apt to put a new stitch in my dog after it came out. She was only in there 20 mins.
Mar 12 2014 12:38 PM -
lyndseyp27
no thats just for them to weigh them and make sure their hearts sound ok - no treatment!
I can understand the emergency vet fee (ive had loads of them) as they dont get many people in after house and need to cover costs etc - still expensive!
