What are you looking at? Something fancy from KAD perhaps? ;)

Just a good modified 12g202 with unleaded inserts will be more than enough.

Nicely ported and gas flowed, it will make a good difference.

As soon as I read a post about minisport the first thing that popped into my head was 'it won't be in stock'. Clicked on the view all comments button and low and behold. Someone beat me to it.

Boarding and insulating the loft has to be one of the worst DIY jobs ever. Or as I now refer to it, itchy hell

-
Steve220
Totally agree. I ended up wearing a boiler suit and rubber gloves. Strong look.

My friend has announced she is getting rid of her two lovely ragdoll cats because she would prefer a dog...is it me, or is that pretty heartless and shallow?

-
Ben_O
I do agree with that but if her and husband are dog people, they may well make better dog owners. Perhaps the cats were a mistake for them?
I just don't like to see animals potentially be mistreated by people who don't want them around

I agree Ben, Im a dog person meself...
If she can find a good home for the cats to rehome them with someone who would take care of them, as they should be cared for, then I think - as you do - that they could go to someone who would want them....

Update: - She decided to keep the cats and get a dog also. But one of the cats has now ran away (they are indoor cats)....she's heartbroken. Part of me feels a little bit of karma.

I can't remember the sign up forms but surely there must be something at the top stating it's for classic mini....

The composite one I had started leaking coolant before I had even started the engine, copper one I fitted after worked fine. I'd go copper! Just make sure the mating faces are perfect

Built a few engines with the 450 gasket. No issues. Preparation is the key to a good gasket change.

Do not use BGA head gaskets and if you use Payen purchase the Head Gasket separate as the ones that come in the Head Gasket sets are not of the same quality. That is our findings. The BK450 is a great gasket :)

Dumb question, can you use a pre verto clutch plate in a verto clutch?

-
CAU998
No, you shouldn't have any issues with clutch depression, as that's due to the diaphragm. But it could be more grabby due to the lack of springs on the plate itself, which soften the uptake?

out of all the minis I've driven over they years mine has always had, imo a far too soft clutch, so I can't see it being much of an issue.

All sorted now with the correct verto plate thanks to good old Guessworks.

Fired my half built banger racer up for the first time in 6 months earlier this evening. Couldn't believe it started after only turning over a few times and didn't require a jump.

its a 1986, probably a city type, but with a running driving 1275, resprayed, few nice bits inc a turbo, needs sills, but i got it for the price of decent 1275 motor so im happy :D

When you spend a Saturday evening stripping down a set of disc brakes, instead of doing what regular people consider to be fun.

Also got about 4 different types of grease on my hands and I couldn't find any hand cleaner :P

Swapping the engine out instead?

I can imagine... Plus there would be all the dirt and crap on the subframe. I'll stick to refurbishing simpler components for now :)
