Been using a ring spanner that's quite long but it doesn't want to budge.

use a 1/2 drive socket and bar, and be carefull to not strip the threads, gearbox casings are quite soft :(

Brilliant. My Mini's cylinder head went for machining for a set of exhaust seats. Its coming out with new guides, cut inlet seats and a head skim... I can feel my wallet groaning already...
