Standard 3 way cats are not restircing, the early open loop cats used with carbs were and the myth comes from that. The cat on the MPi costs you a little output at the top end but not a lot. Also you now must have one fitted if it was built with one to pass the MOT.

I've got a decat pipe on my MPi :) Sounds a little louder but I prefer that! My cat was torn open so it was cheaper to get this pipe, will buy another come MOT time and only fit it on that day :)

They're pretty good, just regularly clean the bracket riveted to the bowl (aswell as the rivets), as their not stainless. They fit to the std rover brackets too! :)
