Whats the best way to remove paint of chrome wheels? Paint stipper takes the top layer off and thats it

My daily fiesta popped a driveshaft this morning at 6am, on the twisties with no phone signal >_< - and being lowered it wouldn't fit on the first recovery truck that turned up.. aha

Actually, my choice of words was not really accurate, it was a wax I was applying, I wasn't polishing as such. I suspect YZF was meaning the same thing. I (wrongly) tend to refer to these things all as polishing!
I take it you were referring to the activities we were performing outside of the bedroom there steve?!
