Is it recommended to adjust idle speed at home? I'm booking a rolling road sesh but want to alter it beforehand, it's 1200rpm!

If your taking it to a r&r just ask them to adjust it for you. :) Is the r&r good with classics?

Haha, I will but I have to use it in the mean time! I think so yes, so hopefully they will have a little patience for it!

My idle was 2000rpm on the way to m rolling road because the mixture was that bad and the timing was so far out. Don't worry about it let the rolling road do their stuff lol

Maybe a stupid question, but is the mpi heater valve very variable? e. g. can you actually control temp at all or is it pretty much 'induction furnace' or 'blast freezer?

Did you get your level 3 first? :/

Yes Anthony I have my level 3 , I used to test years ago but changed jobs and let it lapse so had to do the whole thing again. Left it too long just to get away with a refresher course !

Question, my battery died the other night, I've put in a battery temporarily from work to keep me going until I have time to grab one at the weekend, it's a bigger than normal battery you would use for a mini, so big I had to shave the plastic bits off the ends to get it into my battery box! The car starts stupidly quick because it's so powerful! Will this damage my starter motor? Sounds like the things going to take off with the power going through it!

It is a 12V battery you have used I presume? You don't work with lorries and 24V batteries do you lol!
Nov 05 2015 09:07 PM -
markyB
As long as it is a 12v battery it will be fine , the improved starting is more than likely because the replacement battery has a much higher cranking amps capacity than a mini specific battery .

Yeah a 12v, not sure I would get a lorry battery in the mini! It's a 680amps one if that makes any sense
