I just burst out laughing at a comment under a video of a fat kid getting hit in the face with an American football. The comment said "later that kid had the player frozen in carbonite"

Declaring the mini SORN today. I'm feeling quite down about it to be honest. :( It will be kept in the garage though, and the turbo project will continue, when money allows. :) I will miss driving the thing. Never fails to put me in a good mood, and I'm a right grumpy sod sometimes.

Want to get the turbo and ignition done by next year. It depends on money really. Aiming for MITP again this year, but in the Astra this time. We'll see. Fancy doing IMM 2016, but it probably won't be done by then.

Sounds good :)
Can't wait for MITP! Only down the road and my favourite show of the year. I'll have to keep an eye out for the astra then :p

M62 East, then M6 south near warrington. Usually take a break at Birmingham. It goes without saying, I'll have TMF stickers on both sides of the astra. :) Might do it tomorrow.

Started cycling, since fuel is so expensive, hopefully going to save some cash and get exercise at the same time.

Vinay-RS
That could quite easily be taken out of context :P

Does anyone know where to get a rubber gasket for the fuel sender unit and what type of sealer to use?

-
CityEPete
I just fitted a new sender yesterday! Mine was only reading 3/4 when I filled the car then was reading empty after 100 miles, I checked out the MPG and got it to around 40 so I knew it was lying! I filled the car to the brim then made a note of the mileage, I then did 200 miles to run the tank low enough to remove the sender without fuel coming out or running out of fuel, knock the ring around remove and refit with a new rubber ring, I would make sure the ignition is off just in case...

it sparks the fuel vapor!

Been driving around like it for a year, if I fill it up it reads full then after a couple miles it will drop to empty! Been trying to keep it low on fuel so I can get it done maybe just a little too low. Thanks for the advise, just ordered a seal and locking ring off ebay so hopefully will get it done start of next week.

Oh dear. Just don't seem to be having much luck lately. Well if it happens in threes then my luck should hopefully change!

Hope the third problem isn't too bad?

Problem with the mini. The handling has been terrible and we've found that the subframe is slightly loose. Thankfully we think we know what it is and parts ordered so should be ok! :)

Ah ok, so not to bad.

hmmm, bit concerned that myhermes collected a parcel from me yesterday but it's still showing up on the tracking 'awaiting collection'

Click view in the action bit, sometimes it doesn't refresh until you have done that

It's cool, i found out that the courier who collected it had a dud thingymagigy so said she would log the collection when she got home, obviously she forgot.
I sent a message to myhermes outlining my concern so they can sort it. i expect it will appear at the next checkpoint
