Wondering what the procedure is when storing my car for a couple of weeks

That's good to hear, was a bit worried about things going bad if left sitting. Need to put a piece of card under the sump (small leak) :)

Make sure it's got the right amount of anti-freeze for the predicted weather where it will be.

Temps will probably range from 10 - 35 degrees. If I top up the level before I leave that should be fine right?

The pain when you pick up a panel which looks straight, true, and 'professionally' resprayed by a 'body shop' shortly before car was scrapped.....you rub the paint back to find more rot and filler than the panel you bought it to replace. Cowboys.

can the pins in the door hinges be knocked out as the bolts in the door are seized

-

The other option is heat then use the impact driver. Its a pain trying to drill the screws out and not damage the captive thread plates.

ha ha if I could I would - he got me discount when setting it up but then didnt answer his phone when broke down! I called AA & they got the nearest bloke out to me! I only need roadside and take me to the nearest garage thing, didnt want to pay extra for home recovery as can push the car 1/4 mile away for roadside :P

Just get the bog standard road side assist cover for about £60 a year or whatever it is. Then if it really is knackered or you break down at home and require a different service you just pay the extra then and upgrade. No point paying the whole lot and not using it.

I have RAC cover - called them out last week. Guy on the phone said they would be 45 mins and he showed up in 10 and fixed the problem on my wife's TT in a matter of minutes. Prior to L2B I called them out to the mini and the guys was again on site quick and got her running in no time (Coil problem). I never used to have any cover before this year so quite impressed so far.
