IMM was bloody great. Only gripe I have wish was a lot more for kids to do as funfair was crap and had two bored boys a lot of the time. Only so many minis they will look at :0( oh well MITP next weekend! Will be on Essex mini club stand.

Had a brill time at IMM, mini did 240 with a barely there clutch lol. Although before I take 4 people in mini again need to change suspension as had a lot of arch scrubbing.

Yay have my baby back! All mot'd and taxed and good to go. Stuff done; remove and replace rear subframe, weld boot, fix and weld new front subframe brackets, weld front floor near subframe, get through mot (few small issues such as handbrake failing, lights and a big of wiring). In for 5 days and only £380! So impressed with them guys.

That's a great price and fantastic news. So is he all back on the road now?

£380? I too would be chuffed with that for the subframe alone!Nice one!

Given up with this project , annoyed me too much , nothing is going right ...how much would i have to pay for someone to fit new brake shoes all round & sort suspension all round -.-

-
Grimshaw17
Ramps would be pointless as you have to take the wheels off ;)

I know some will say noooo but I've always taken my cars to Kwik Fit and never had a problem with them for brakes. Never failed an MOT on them anyway. Pretty reasonable too. They do a lifetime replacement on pads/shoes for as long as you own the car too (I've got through 2 sets on the Golf and they've just replaced them, no quibble). You could get a free quote so you have some idea of what you're looking at?

Found a lower arm bush is starting to come apart. Is it safe to drive until I can get it done? It only squeaks on long journeys but must have done it for months.

-
thegreenhornet
It doesn't wander or knock. It just squeaks.

Just unbolt the joint mate, the upper arm takes the spring pressure, none on the lower arm. Unbolt, pin out, new bush on - easier to split the lower ball joint and take the lower arm off the car to put new bushes in though - easy job

I did mine at the same time as replacing the tie bar bushes. Be prepared though, I had to burn mine out with a blow torch
