Did my wedding car duty with the Moggy. Dropped off the bride and groom. About 2 miles from home and the heavens opened and the roof still down. I honestly have never driven a 1000 cc so bloody fast in my life!! I had a soaking wet head but the inside stayed remarkably dry.

Lucky! Makes you sound bald the way you say 'got my head wet'!

Anyone with a trailer available tomorrow? Or have one we can borrow? The Minis died and weve had to leave it

Our breakdown cover is very stupid, I phoned them and they said they can't come out because my Dad wasn't driving. They would charge £110 to come out and then extra to low load it. I fixed all of the water leaks but it was too late, the head gaskets gone I think. Its also at least an hour from me and also from my Grandparents where I was heading

Just looked at my reply and the first bit was where I was replying on my phone with pigs trotters for fingers. Sounded a bit curt. But yep anytime anything like that comes up let us know. We can then sort it out. Happy days.

You'll need more than 5k to get Vtec power from an A series though

But to me, it's better to jest get an civic, which is cheaper, more comfortable, and less likely to get stolen. Insurannce will also be cheaper. So civic for me over a mini powered by one.

True rally
And +1 Smiler. I've got 2 of the buggers because wanted vtec, but I don't think much of vtec minis so rather have the civics for that and keep mini good ol A series

Mini Cheddars
Just a quick question on copper head gaskets, Shiny copper side up or down?

-
Mini Cheddars
Cheers dude. I can't see "top" or "bottom" on mine anywhere but there is a part number stamped and there are grooves around the holes for what I'm assuming are the head studs.

http://www.theminiforum.co.uk/forums/topic/136601-head-gasket-which-way/ dose that help?

Yep! The photo someone posted of their copper gasket helps a lot. I have two genuine ones from Mini Spares (3rd on the way - long story) and so far, neither have the orientation stamped. All I can see is "9-2012F" which is embossed on the top-rear of the gasket.
