You'll need more than 5k to get Vtec power from an A series though

But to me, it's better to jest get an civic, which is cheaper, more comfortable, and less likely to get stolen. Insurannce will also be cheaper. So civic for me over a mini powered by one.

True rally
And +1 Smiler. I've got 2 of the buggers because wanted vtec, but I don't think much of vtec minis so rather have the civics for that and keep mini good ol A series

Mini Cheddars
Cheers dude. I can't see "top" or "bottom" on mine anywhere but there is a part number stamped and there are grooves around the holes for what I'm assuming are the head studs.

http://www.theminiforum.co.uk/forums/topic/136601-head-gasket-which-way/ dose that help?

Yep! The photo someone posted of their copper gasket helps a lot. I have two genuine ones from Mini Spares (3rd on the way - long story) and so far, neither have the orientation stamped. All I can see is "9-2012F" which is embossed on the top-rear of the gasket.

Neighbour has spent the day banging around in the garden making a racket. They're now just about to sit on the patio and have a nice quiet supper in the sun. Time to fire up the rattly, smoke belching old Qualcast I think.
