Bad news, had a crash in my mini. On a road I drive every day, doing 35/40 ish (2,000 rpm in 3rd) turn a gentle bend to find a chaved up old van in the middle of the road. I swerve to avoid it. Swerve up into the grass and rock bank, once up onto it i spot a large boulder, swerve again, lock up the rear wheels and spin into the wall front first. Destroyed the bumper and grille and spots, pushed hard on the front panel, bent some of it around on the seam where the bumper is, and pushed all the...

Colour doesn't matter really apart from the obvious. Like white will look dirty quicker than a dark colour. I've just gone for black
Apr 16 2014 06:44 PM -
craigr91
I'll prob end up going black too :)

Ahhh...that lovely feeling when you get a minispares delivery....ruined when you open it and realise you've either ordered the wrong part (check) or forgotten to order something (double check)...and now with a Bank holiday weekend, deliveries go to sleep!!!

-
rally1380
And triple check - there is a faulty part in there too!!!

How many days work (roughly) do people reckon it takes to weld a new front end (front panel, outer wings, a panels)?

-
rally1380
Done by a Pro or done by a keen amateur? A Pro with the right gear could do it in a day assuming its straight panel swap with no rot to deal with.

to aline it all and assuming it not a welded up heap 2 working days

Are the R7's worth that much extra over the 032's? Might try a set

So many numbers! I am looking at the A539 Yokohama's if that makes any difference?
Apr 16 2014 09:57 AM -
minimaxie
A539's are for 12's n 13's correct? If so Richie, you needn't worry about what we're talking about here lol. miniman24, I'd say they as good as Yokos, they're a period look tyre remanufactured with a modern compound. If they're good enough for pre 66 Historic Coopers, then I reckon they're good enough for your standard road Mini :)

Seriously!!??? It may take the temp but I wouldn't ever use it on oil lines! Aeroquip braided hose and aeroquip alloy unions. Every time
Apr 15 2014 08:45 PM -
IainStallard
I second aeroquip hoses, why spend so much on an engine and then use anything less to hold the life blood of the engine
Apr 15 2014 08:50 PM -
minilee94
Okay il take a look at aeroquip hoses

All four wheels now cleaned front and rear, tyres shined, car fully waxed, chrome cleaned. Only now I don't want to get it dirty!

-
Moggyton
Hours trying to buff it out? Should take about 20 mins to buff it out :)
Apr 15 2014 07:17 PM -
Cerberus
Yeah I know, never had much luck with it. I've had trouble with TechWax 2 and today I tried an old bottle of Colour Magic Wax we had. When I help my Dad do his cars, it comes off easy as anything, not for me though
Apr 15 2014 08:52 PM -
Moggyton
Get some pre wax cleanser. I use autoglym HD wax and its fairly tough to apply and buff out but its worth it!

Was told my Minispares discount would be taken off on all future orders, so I placed an order the other day and it wasn't taken off. I've called them and I cant get the difference refunded or anything. Was a £100 order as well ffs wonderful -_-

It's not the cash it's the principle. People should do as they say.

Essentially yeah Tom its just an annoyance, I thought it was just added onto your account so I didn't want to call up and sound like I was taking the piss really.
