I'm in a similar position. Can you go back and try and get a refund (maybe at least a partial one) as I assume you don't want the same guy working on it again. At least that way you've got some money to put towards getting the job done right. It can be pretty depressing finding something like this though.

Slowly but surely, the box is now being refurbished, went to a local refurbishes on Friday (was planning on sending it to guess works but the garage didn't think much of sending it down to near London from up here near Sheffield), but this local guy he has taken it to is also a mini engine and gearbox guy (don't know who). So im guessing the box will be ready Monday, refitted Tuesday and ready for me picking to car up Wednesday.... hopefully :)

You know its been too long since you last cleaned your car when you find that what you thought was part of the door rubbing strip is in fact you side repeater light. Under the mud it was hard to tell

Have an idea of making a In-Car Entertainent system using a raspberry Pi. My plan should allow it to act as the cars radio, play mp3s, sat-nav. Could be used to control other things. I don't own a mini but i have thoguht of this idea. Other stuff could be done like security, controlling Heater, hands-free phone calls. Do you think it could sell? I think the possible market price would be £150. Or am i just crazy.

I think that could be a fairly decent idea, you'd need to amp the output for the audio though otherwise it would sound abit naff

1300! The cheapest I can get is double that! The joys of having a Cooper. Kind of wish I'd gone for a BOC now. I'll probably fit a Webasto as soon as I can afford one anyway.

I'd love a 998, I prefer the sound and having to floor it on the hilly roads on the way to 6th form. Anything with a carb really, easier to tune
