For god sake, if you ever need to search for "Gary Oldman" on google, dont forget the "r" in Gary, your search results may vary wildly.

As many people know, my mini has had a recurring starting problem whereby it won't start if left for more than 3 days; I fixed it......it was the bloody rotor arm creating a weak spark...

-
cooperdan
always is something so easily over looked

deanymini
Why would the 3 day timespan have any impact on the rotor arm?
Jan 16 2014 02:09 PM -
IainStallard
No idea, but that was what it did. It would start fine if used every day

Got the morning off, so fit the replacement alternator as new one was faulty, put new points and condenser on, new manifold clamp and seal it up again and then if time allows I will tackle getting the wiper motor off to change the switch.

Following on from the OCD thread....time to go and refurb some heater bits that once fitted I'll never ever see again......

Never mind.... If you take all the drylining and plasterboard off my bathroom walls, you'll find EVERY wooden stud and noggin is PERFECTLY mitred

....and my campervan's chassis that took me 3 months to bare metal, rust proof, zinc primer and spray 6 coats of chassis black.... Perfect mirror finish that only me and the MOT man will ever see ;-)
