I've gone the other way, it was working before christmas, then the water pump packed in. Now it's in the garage with no coolant/rad/bonnet while I kill some rusty bits and other jobs in that area that need doing.

If you let it get deep enough, the heat from the exhaust tunnel will create a nice convection current; transforming your footwell into a soothing footbath.

What is the safe wading depth for a mini? Just been through a flood with water up to my floor and there were no problems, was I lucky?
