Thanks. I was scratching my head with this. Access to the nut is very limited.
I will be popping down to Screwfix tomorrow.

:( It will be worth it if you can get the mini running better by spending a bit on it though.

Can anyone recommend a good 'how to' book for mig welding? Ideally for someone who's thick (me)

-

I found lots of helpful 'how to' videos on youtube. Try searching 'how to mig weld' or something similar

Spent the day programming an Arduino microprocessor and have finally managed to get it to do what I want. For someone who says 'I don't do electrics, I'm I mechanical engineer' I'm quite proud of myself

Incredible little devices aren't they, endless possibilities. What have you used yours for?

All I wanted to do was fit new metal clips to the CV boots. 1 drive shaft and CV joint removed later. The one job I hate the most on a mini by far. :(

Yep. Really is the job I hate doing. Such a PITA. I enjoy removing/fitting heads, fitting manifolds ect. I also needed to remove the tank to fit new pipes, and needed to remove the tank cover. what a PITA. But, to be fair, I did build that particular problem. :/

I need to remove the tank to get to the rear taillight cluster and I'm dreading the job. Mainly since draining the tank seems like a good way to end up getting fuel everywhere.
