He explained the reason for giving oversills as an advisory was because it sits on top of the original body rather than in it.

While the car was jacked up he got this big stick and wedged it under the tyre and tried to lift the wheel, but it hardly moved. He then showed me the same thing on the OSR and the wheel lifted right up.
