squeeling brakes I have been told by my mechanic it will be unbranded brake shoes

squealing brakes is normally due to the pads sticking/vibrating in the callipers or glazed pads and disks. best off removing the pads, giving them a quick sand to remove any glazing, give were they sit in the caliper a good scrape to remove any crud and then popping the pads back in with some copper grease on the backs and were they sit in the callipers.

thinking of upgrading my 1979 mini saloon to disc brakes, has anyone done it and of course was it worth the cost

Definitely worth doing I'd say, and as above the minispares own 7.5" coopers calipers and discs are excellent value.

Because a majority of them are 'repair' panels that are oversized to fit over the top of existing rusty panels. What are you having trouble with then?

Its a front drivers repair panel where the inindicater is its matching it up to the wing line above the wheel
