I recently changed the head on my 1275 to a big valve forged rocker head i had and i found out the engine has +020 pistons. What size would this make the motor? 1293?

The composite one I had started leaking coolant before I had even started the engine, copper one I fitted after worked fine. I'd go copper! Just make sure the mating faces are perfect

Built a few engines with the 450 gasket. No issues. Preparation is the key to a good gasket change.

Do not use BGA head gaskets and if you use Payen purchase the Head Gasket separate as the ones that come in the Head Gasket sets are not of the same quality. That is our findings. The BK450 is a great gasket :)

Anyone know it the "Mini minor" badge and the "morris cooper" badge use the same mounting holes on a mk1 boot lid? Thanks!!

No, Morris Cooper badge is about 3" longer and holes are spaced wider apart.

Is there a thread on here that has a walkthrough of removing the front fenders? and maybe the front panel also? I need to change mines on my car and I don't want to mess something up. Thanks!

Don't bother...
I have 1 and I couldnt get reverse so removed it...
Mind you, mines a copy... An original genuine KAD shifter might work...

Does it matter what way the rc40 rear muffler mounts? Is there a correct front and rear to it?

Whatever way it falls onto the car then, I suppose. :)

The Center exit box has the shorter pipe to the front and the rear should be upswept.

The previous owner must have bought it used or chopped it off. the pipes coming out of there muffler are only about 2 in and all jagged on the edge.

What's the compression ratio, around 9.4? Then around 135psi will be very good.

What should I do to my newly polished aluminum wheels to keep them from corroding? Clear coat them?

inim_repooc
not an expert on this by any means - but I would think it would probably be a good idea to just keep them well polished and protected - laquer would probably not adhere well on the surface and start peeling off and make the wheel look terrible...
again - just my thoughts here nothing scientific! :)

keep them clean and use a good sealant or wax on them, it'll do the trick.
Jan 23 2016 04:58 PM -

Yep, get a GOOD rim wax on them before fitting. Get as many coats on as possible. Karate kid style, wax on - wax off!

I think your ears could tell you that. I wouldn't worry, my 998s been givven death with poorly valve seals for 3 years and about 20k now and other Tha the obvious blue smoke runs fine.

The seal might be different, but it will fit. However a decent mk2 boolid will be worth a few quid, not easy to find!

As a US octane rating of 94 is equivalent to our 98.
