Is neoprene/epdm foam flammable? But thinking about it you don’t see many people in wetsuits spontaneously combusting.

it is generally flame retardant, probably melt first

so it might just be suitable for use under the bonnet, as I'm looking for something that won't end up acting like a giant sponge with condensation.

It has a low melting temp. Wouldn't risk it.
