My local MOT tester claimed that the engines can be a bit iffy ....and he was a Audi nut, claimed the lower HP on (170?)was more reliable?

Had one, endless problems with the engine to which i finally suffered oil starvation which is caused by oil pump failure in the sump. Both my mates also had one to which they had nothing but trouble with them too.
