His bonus is shares not cash, they may or may not be worth the paper they are written on by the time they are sold

by definition a 'bonus' does not have to be paid or it would be apart of his salary. its not cotracted how much 'bonus' you get. and the share are worth just shy on a mil, and they will not become worthless especially since the goverment has like a 80% stake in RBS

The bonus is in his contract. And anyway i dont see why people have such a big problem with him, he's very good at what he does, he wasn't the person hu buggered up RBS in the first place, he's there to fix it. Before RBS he helped out Northern rock to stop it from collapsing, which he was successful in. aand as well his bonus was in SHARES, not cash, and he defered them untill 2014, so its in his interest to get the bank bank to profit and to do well to make money on his shares...
