I'm in a similar position. Can you go back and try and get a refund (maybe at least a partial one) as I assume you don't want the same guy working on it again. At least that way you've got some money to put towards getting the job done right. It can be pretty depressing finding something like this though.

turns out the tower bolt is the same as the CV nuts. Thats a relief :D

I had a similar thing recently, except i needed the 34mm socket. At least it wasnt that expensive to get

I feel your pain, I did it last year, was stranded at college, ended up waiting two hours for RAC to turn up because no one had any jump leads.
