putting my mini through a Mot having cab/ running to rich has a standard 1990 carb. what needle to i need to make it run less rich was thinking AAV? thanks

    Even simpler solution, depending upon if the carb has a nut (hs4) or a screw (hif38/44) just adjust the nut/screw a few flats/half a turn to lean off the mixture, pass the mot and then do the opposite to reset it back afterwards.

    cheers guys found that the AAA Needle i had was damaged so will get a new AAA needle and a AAV needle just encase as well as dial the mixture down. thanks

had my hazard light switches and wiring done not 6 months ago and now its stopped working again.Can see why people call minis the poor mans classic!

stupid question how can you tell if a gear box is manual or auto on a full engine on a pallet? thanks

    The gearbox and flywheel casings are completely different on an auto. have you got a picture?

    Yes the red bit is the clutch arm. The bell housing cover on a manual is a cast aluminium part on an auto it is a pressed steel part.

stupid question got a engine on a pallet any tips on turning the engine by hand? have not belts just a full engine without ancillaries on a pallet with plugs. just want to keep it moving occasionally thanks :)

    take the plugs out and put a squirt of oil down each bore, turn it by hand and put the plugs back in hand tight.

    I just took the clutch cover off of mine and periodically turned the big flywheel bolt with a ratchet a few revolutions.

was quoted 1 week to cover a dash rail and speaker board. 2 weeks later still haven't started it. are auto upholstery places normally bad at quote times?

    I like the fact that with a bit of tweaking most games will work on a half decent machine. Obviously you don't get the exclusive titles like forza or gt6, but that shouldn't be the main reason to buy a specific console
