Model: Flame
Year: 1990 Stage 1 k&n and needle to suite set up.
[
Right have changes the fuel mixture around a week ago for MOT and came back as verry low on CO2 emissions but ran perfect weather has been nice since not to rainy so air density has been steady but today coming to drive it hard starting and chugging and on driving verry sluggish and on idle is ok for a few moment and unless throttle intervines she stalls.

Now Im thinking my mixture is far too lean and I should tweek any other ideas or perhaps I am correct?

Thank you for taking the time to read any positive responces would be greafully appreciated

Bradley

Any non-standard parts that might be involved with the problem?

Has it been rolling roaded since the stage 1 was fitted?

If not then it probably needs a tune up.

Paul.

I do appreciate a RR is the best option after any modification and you can't set up a car as accurate but...

As the car was running extremely rich before the MOT but still drove nicely

And after MOT still drove nicley I am merely asking is this problem more likely to be better if I adjust the mixture up a little to allow the mixture to idle without stalling and all lumpy as I feel the weather has played a vital part to play....

Id appreciate some advice as to weather Im on the right lines?

Cheers

Brad

You seem to have answered your own question really

It was running rich before the MOT but was driving fine..

After MOT mixutre had been weakened off to pass emmisions and CO2 is now on the low side (weaker mixture)

So yes with what you've said I'd richen the mixture back up a touch, try 1/2 a turn at a time on the adjusting nut.

Ohhh dear!

Well had the mini at my unit today and spent lots of time attempting to get her to run richt but I couldnt.

I adjusted fuel mixture and event changed the coil and carb but still stalled on idle when it was running at optimum warm temp.

Its as if the fuel is just evaporating fine on load but when idling no joy i really need this mini to work :shifty:

Any one any other ideas or am I going to have to rolling road her?

All that is needed it to get this mini running its not used for any street racing just needs to oporate.

Kind Regards

Bradley

So today I set the mixture up so it was rnning better on a gaz analiser.

Also looked int othe fueling side to try and determine if it is the fuel pump, I linked up a pressure tester and was showing 4.15 ft/lb on tick over but as this figure is not adjustible and the vehicle stalls does any one else think it could be the fuel pump?

Really could do with some advice please
