I changed from a auto 998 to a manual metro 1275 and now my speedo is not working. Yes it worked before the engine change and it is hooked up also made sure it didnt come loose from the speedo. Any ideas on what else to check?

also check the speedo cable connection at the gearbox end, make sure it's correctly seated...
This can be done by removing the speedo end of the cable and turning, if it dow turn then it's not located... alternatively drive along with it disconnected and where you can see it, and you should see it rotating..
FYI..
When I supply a gearbox there are no speedo drives in there, unless specifically asked for, basically because if I put them in I have no idea that they are going to be the correct ones for the application... so saves the return questions 'my speedo does not read correctly'

remove cable, undo 1 securing bolt and fork thingy, remove cover and there should be one of the spindles.
the other spindle you need to remove the radiator, and the engine mount, and its mounted behind a small plate with 2 bolts.
you can also check to see if there is a drive by turning the speedo cable youself between your fingers, if it turns several turns (not just a bit then goes stiff) then your missing 1 or 2 of the spindles.

where can you buy these and if there are a few out there which one would i get for a 1275 metro engine running on 12 inch tires?
i got mine from minispeed last time, but you may be able to put up a wanted add on the forums once you know what number teeth spindles you need (depends on your Diff ratio)

No, auto drives are completely different
Hello,
me again. How many different spindles are there out there? if there is only a few options out there and you have most/all of them how much for one of each? I know it sounds crazy but if the price sounds good i may get them all and them sell off the ones i don't need.
Thanks
