I have been doing a lot of research into this as well.
This place sells some usefull bits: http://www.linitx.com/
Where did you get a power supply from for £30 and what type is it? Only the ones I have looked at are quite a bit more
Mike

If you looking for Mini ITX stuff have a look at these sites
www.mini-itx.com - lots of projects, and have a store
www.itx-warehouse.co.uk - this is just a shop, and this is where i got my PSU from.

How hard would it be to build one of these comes with a built in memory reader
And this for a monitor? http://cgi.ebay.co.u...5788292182&rd=1
Im absolotely lost in this sort of stuuff would the icubit come with windows installed?
Or are you only getting a shell that you install your own parts to?

One of those would be easy to make, they are just a Mini-ITX motherboard, with a few attachments put into a fancy alloy box.
Have a look at some of the features available on the Mini-ITX motherboards, (try the stores on those websites)
As for the screen that would be perfectly fine for use with the computer as it has standard monitor in, and USB touchscreen.

It seems to say you only get the bare case with the trays to fit each of your own parts in ie motherboard, fan, harddrive does this sound right?

Is there a type of itx that you can buy that has the motherboard and all other parts installed?

Yes, if you go to Mini-ITX and go to the store, then look under Pre-built systems
But they can get pricey (£1811) but they can also be fairly cheap
Its not hard to build one :saywhat: :nugget:
Or alternativly you could look at the Shuttle range of computers

Just reading a website there a boy has used a sega console and fitted it out.
How much can you buy a base which would have the motherboard and cdrw and harddrive built in Probably an old one would be good then you could take it apart and use parts?

a good cheap base unit would be the SFF computers,
either a Barebones (case, motherboard, PSU) - overclockers barebones
or an old compaq SFF unit - example
There are several SFF computers out there, you can either find one that can do what you want, or you can build one to the exact spec that you want.
You WILL pay for size, as well as power (but that should be obvious).

If you build yourself you will save a heap of cash, i've looked at the itx boards and you can pick them up for about £60 with onboard processor, just add psu, memory and a hardrive and away you go, then if you buy the proper case and fit optical drives etc it can bump the price up considerably.
If you want to do it yourself just tell us how much cash you've got and we will be able to give you a spec from that.
