i reccon you could get somehwere near 100bhp running standard ecu.1380 rebore, swiftune cam, cooper works head, 1.5 roller rockers, lighened/balenced flywheel. decent exhaust system. gas flowed inlet manifold, larger throttle body. this is what me and my dad are looking to put together for his car.
will be along with 3.44 fd, maybe sc drops, 4 pin diff.
if its not 100bhp, it should have a nice torque curve.
you wont touch 100bhp!!!
i have my car to a siily spec at the moment, tho its not up and running yet, i'm not even considerring keeping the mems system!!
i had the cooper works 90bhp kit fitted then got a throttle bodie and a cam, it knackered the engine up, no power (due to the cam profile before 3K) not enopugh fuel after 5k!!!!!!!
i've since had the engine re-built/overbored and am now up to 1430cc when i get the car back i'll be fiting something like the kit that specialist components have!!!

Im glad some one else agrees

SPi is a different ball game though

the unit is locked an cannot be altered
the piggyback units just trick the ecu into thinking it needs more fuel
- if your engine is properly modded this wont achieve anything because you'll already be pushing out about 90bhp (about the best you'll get the system to deliver)
-the main issue is that most/all milti point injection systems have at least one injector per cylinder so the fuel mixture can easly be set up with correct mixture at low revs high revs full load etc
the one that rover developed (instead when the regs said they need to change the omisions swap the engine to the K-series)
they thought it cheaper to develoe a locked set that could be used on a non cross flowed head from an engine datin back pre 1950's.
the spi can probs be modded better as its just an injector stuffed into a carb!!!
the tpi systems is a silly idea in terms of tunning and the ecu is crap.
thus the need for me to fit a system like the emerald to my 1430!!! :S

its original conception was on the mini. It would have been a good design criteria, that a factory fit manifold which is freely available at a reasonable price, that you could use it in its entirety? Well CANEMS cannot, you have to fudge the idle air control valve with a noisey PWM valve instead. Thats my only gripe with it.
if it fuels a properly modded mpi unit properly then im all for
HEY!! whats a bit more noise in the mini cab lol!!!!

and it gets there with a reprogrammed factory ecu. yes, it is possible
and i have to say that the factory MPi set up is very good. working very well and giving good power. but of cause it is designed around a factory engine.
