the spec of this PC is:

Intel® Core™ 2 Quad Processor Q6600 (2.4Ghz). 3Gb DDR2 RAM. 1Tb (1000Gb) SATA hard drive. 19in LCD monitor with 8m response rate. DVD+/-RW double layer. Nvidia GeForce 8400GS graphics card. 52-in-1 card reader. Microsoft Windows Vista Home Premium.

Unless anyone knows where I can get the offical spec from the PC?

Thats perfectly ample for running vista but as had been said i wouldnt run two antivirus' its only gonna cause you grief!

All i can say is if you went back to xp you would see some blinding performance on those specs! ;)

got Avest on in the back ground...

Thje fact its scanned 35000 files, and still says 21% is good enough! AVG would of finished by now!

Lol thats cause your doing a full scan with Avast but it may be you were only doing a quick scan with AVG

Ive used AVG for years now combined with Windows firewall and ive had windows defender since its beta was first released. Have never had a single problem ever in the last 4 years?

However i am still running XP pro so i would be inclined to think that the problems your having with AVG at the moment are Vista related?

All i can say is bring on Windows 7 then we can discard Vista as a huge white elephant, just as we did with windows millenium!

I have my reservations about windows7. When they do release it they will make millions
1. All those switching from Vista - I'm still massively surprised by the sheer size of OS its just pure evil!
2. No doubt by the time they release windows7, XP will be discarded and no further updates or hardware drivers will be utilized by it.

To me it just seems Windows7 will just be another massive Microsoft cash cow, I just hope that its light, has eye candy, makes things easy to install without the OS asking you countless times are you sure - its the bleeding paper clip all over again!

Anyway back on topic, have you tried using any other browser to see whether the problem lies with firefox? And can you still use the mouse, run other programmes or do you have to hard re-boot?

To get your computers spec 'right click' my computer and select properties. With a spec like that you shouldn't be having those problems. All I can suggest is having a clear out of all unnecessary problems n files and try to limit the amount of programs you have running at once.
