Looks like they have a load of film and media course graduate channel controllers at Discovery then! I thought that was just the kind of show that some of these Discovery channels were designed for, but then what do I know? After all I didn't spend three years at college making trailers for other people's films and making shows in the style of other shows while constantly being told how great Stanley Kubrick was. There's one thing they never learn at college which is the first thing you learn if you work in TV for real, DON'T ~&*% WITH THE FORMAT.

Don't suppose you know anyone 'in the know' do you Dan that we could pitch the idea to?

You know ages ago there was a thread about a "mini is born" series that Mark Evans would do, well I email'd him to see whether he would like to do it or not.
This was a couple of weeks ago, and he finally replied to me today
He said:
"Hi jamie
Thanks for your email and kind words.
Suggested a show to Discovery but not interested !!!!
All the best,
MARK"
So its not gonna happen then

Mark Evans stripped down and restored 3 tatty Rover Mini Coopers into Red, White & Blue Italian Job lookalikes in the TV series "Dream Machines" in 2003. I have a copy of the programme on DVD recorded off Ch5 at the time. The registrations of 2 of the cars were H753 CAP (1991 currently taxed) and J467 VDF, all 3 were given away to one phone in prize winner at the end of the show. Anyone know where any of them are now?

It's always good to check the original thread and reply there .
I think it's nice he's wrote everyone back, shame about Discovery .

When I did our last project I'd got every intention of filming it, but when you actually get down to doing the work on the car, that sort of goes out the window unless you have somebody who can stand and film you.
