I understand totally what your saying but i have no money at the moment and i could only just afford the bits i did buy.

When i get some more money which is very difficult to get hold of because i don't have a job. ( yes i am asking every were :D )

I will replace the the lot when i get the funds i don't mind taking it apart again( that don't bother me)

I have completed one side of the suspension but i cant get the other side in. I also cant for the life of me remember how i did the other side :D

Which way round do you do things?

I have the top arm in but i cant get the trumpet in. I have also tried getting the top arm in when the trumpet is in but it wont go. :D

How have you done it or how would you suggest to fit it all together.

Do you have the cone compressed with the proper tool?

If it is compressed then put the trumpet in and then the top are with the knuckle joint in place. It should go together realtively easily if eveything is seated square.

Is the trumpet the original cast one or a hi-lo?

If you have the cone compressor screwed into the cone too far, the tip of the cone compressor will be sticking out quite a long way, making it difficult (or impossible) to get your trumpet in there.

Have a feel with your hand, if it is possible to wind the cone compressor back a bit, then do so (you may need to de-compress everything to enable you to wind it back). From a safety point of view, make sure that you have the rod wound in enough to get a proper grip on the thread of your cone.

Well done!

Just out of interest...did you do the complete job leaving the upper arms in? I've done this job on two minis now and it's taken absolutely forever because getting the top arms out is a big job. I'm now thinking that perhaps I should have spent a bit longer trying to do the job without removing the top arms.
