Got 998cc mini 1979 im aged 22 been driveing just 2 years with no no claims bonus insured with lancaster fully comp for 550 pound a year

Im 21, 3 points, no NCB, 1310cc turbo engine and all mods declared, £6500 agreed value was only £440 a year.

Theres been loads of insurance topics, it depends on car, age, area, garaged/driveaway, type of policy, extras etc etc.

17 years old is where the high premium is coming from. Thats the way all insurance is these days, because of all the uninsured idiots out there.

Trying to insure my son (17 on 13/11/08) for a 98 MPi - using Confused.com

- For me with him as named driver = £675 (Quinn or Admiral)
- For him with me as named driver = £1,450 (Quinn)

Do you think I can get better than this? (PS - I'm 50 with max NCB but 1 x SP30)

I've brought my first mini TODAY for my first car, as i'm 17 in 2 weeks (3rd december)
It's a 97 Cooper MPi in BRG in really good condition, I'm, chuffed :D

Cheapest insurance i've found for provisional is Quinn, but if you try ringing insurance companies it seems to come up a lot cheaper.
I had a quote for when I pass as 1850, with my mom as the main driver.
As I can't get insured for the next 2 weeks, she's insured it on her own to start with, and when she asked about adding a 17yr old as provisional on, they said it'd be 1300, which seems a lot easier than swapping insurance companies once I pass
Hope this helps

endsliegh are usally very good but quinn was my next cheapest

Endsliegh are cheap becuase they are aiming themselves at the student market- unfortunatley these means whilst the quote is cheap... it's because you're covered for bugger all.

i have gort a 1991 cooper 1275, and im paying £450 as a named driver on my dads policy, im 17, so from some of the quotes on here, i think mine is cheap now compared to others.
