Update on spi not starting when cold, i got the ecu plugged in today and yes you guessed it it would not read the car they used a crypton machine. This morning i had to start the car again by putting a drop of fuel direct into the injecter and she went straight away as normal but coming back from work again as engine was cold she would not start again so i used same trick again, when driving the car she is perfectly all right however as today is the first day i risked taking it to work i noticed that the temp gauge where before run at just under half now only runs just above cold does anyone know if this could be connected to the problem that i have been having with not being able to start when its cold, if anyone has any idears please let me know, also does anyone have a code reader in the cornwall area that may be able to help.
cheers.

Prob a fault with the coolant temp sensor under the inlet manifold or check the wiring to it as it can wear through on the inlet manifold and bulkhead, this could give the ecu a false reading and poor cold starting, high emmissions etc

Hi, You emailed me, (the old git), however for months I have not been able to get on the site because it would not accept mypassword. Sooooo tonight I've changed myself to Racing Gold, our race colour for next year. Answer is same as above. Did one last week, same symptons. Unscrewed sensor underneath inlet manifold and replaced it. Started sraight away, no probs since

I would advise a genuine sensor if you can afford it as some aftermarket parts can be a false economy in my opinion, had a lot of poor quality pattern parts over the years from various suppliers.

I'll agree with all of the above.
I've had the same problems with my SPi in the past, coolant temp sensor changed and all fixed!
