Megajolt Maps

it could be interesting to open a post where all mini owners who fit a megajolt kit will publish maps of their set up and a short sum up of their specs engine. I found one web site where it is possible to find 5 or 6 maps ... i think we can do much better on the mini forum.

not sure I want to sign up to too many sites as my spam filter is filling up with record numbers of S***E lately.
Once mine is up and running I will put a map up. Is there anybody out there with good general advice on how to map, at the moment I am just stabbing in the dark and using other peoples maps.

Most of those maps are on the megajolt website.

correct way is dyno tune.
problem with megajolt is the sensor is very rarely positioned spot on, so that error is added (or subtracted) from the figures on the map.
So after downloading a map close to your engine spec, try reposioning the sensor or trigger wheel (as if doing the timing on a dizzy), I ended up advancing mine some 15degs and it run a lot better.
not enough advance and the car will be slow and prob burn out the exhaust valves.
too much advance it will not start properly (turn over very slow) and probably det and melt your pistons.

Was getting all excited about getting a megajolt set up, but this worries me now

The risks of bad ignition timing are no different with MJ to any other system. You can still use a strobe to check the accuracy of the mechanical parts and V4 of MJ allows you to advance or retard the whole map easily, you could still do the same with V3 by editing each cell.
O right, so you can check if your ignition is ok by using a timing light?

Does the MJ give much of an improvement on a 998 ?? just seems a lot of trouble and depending where the parts are sourced from expense. Can see where it could be usefull on bored out 1275's , just the 998's I wonder about.
I'm in the dark where MJ is concerned so just improving my knowledge
