Hi Guys,

Bolted discs to flanges (after changing wheel studs for ones with flatter backs that don't foul the disc). Bolted flanges to Hub (not 150lb/ft yet).

Went to fit caliper and they won't fit. I have another 4ish mm before the caliper is bolted flat against the hub, but already the outter part of the caliper is rubbing on the inside of the flange!

See gap right; and touching left:

It was suggested they were non-vented calipers as there is no spacer, but they must be later vented calipers without the spacer:

So, it must be the flange I have not being a non-vented one. Has anyone got a vented flange they can measure so I can check mine?

They doo look more like a Mini flange than a Metro one - any chance of a photo face on?

There are two types of metro flange, the Turbo/vented ones have a deeper inset where the tapered washer and hub nut go, also there's a thread from a while back where to two are compared side to side...

Definitely Metro flanges, but I think they're prob the non-vented ones. Here's some more pics:

by the way, I machined the lugs off the faces so they might not immediately look like Metro ones.

Any chance you could find that thread with the comparison on? Did a search but couldn't find it!

Can't find the thread, but found the photo ( apologies for quality ), but once the flanges have been removed, instead of there being a raise section in the middle as per your flanges, there's a recessed area on the vented/turbo drive flanges...

Unfortunately I sold these to mini_kel

they are defo metro flanges i made the mistake of fittin 8.4 flanges to mine and had that same problem but as long as you have mini hubs metro vented disks metro flanges and standard metro caliper without spacer it should fit you dnt need the spacer not 100% on whats gone rong with yours tho...

hold up.. this may be a very silly answer but have you tried the calipers on the other side? i.e drivers to passenger and so on... the lugs are offset on those calipers i remember.. dunno if that mite be it but worth a try.. i fitted mine the wrong sides but still cnt remember that happening

Bleed Nipples should point up and the single bleed nipple should be at the top>>>>>>>>>>>>>>

But they should fit both sides anyway???

Here's a photo of the "uppsidedown" version (oops, but not me) also a pic of my set as bought straight of the metro, if it helps?

Just a thought but what does the metro replacement (Rover 100?) have as a set up?

Yeh, just checked my Rover Manual and see it's a "Single Pot Floater" - very apt title

Ok, thanks for your replies.

I'm definitely putting them on the right way round.

I think the problem is that there were 2 types of metro flange - vented and non-vented. I think the main difference is that the rear part (tha sits against the bearing face) is longer on the vented ones. I've measured mine, but need someone to measure theirs, and hopefully they'll be longer??
