I am fitting minisport adjusta ride cones to raise the front suspension a little at the front and lower it at the back , to create clearence for the front wheels which are 13x7 inch and even tho the wings have been cut back more then enough on full lock they still touch slightly anyway i want to stiffen the the suspension front and back mainly front so it doesnt rub when cornering hard and also because ive heard that 13x7 s will rub at the back so hopefully stiff suspension should help and make it handle better anyway , which shocks should i get and how stiff are shocks like spax and gaz do you think its worth getting adjustable suspension to make sure its stiff enough , so anyones whos got for exsample gaz or spax koni or Bilstein or any aftermarket suspension which they recomend could you tell me, which brands are best

thanks

Well I've had Adjusta-Rides and 'Spax' adjustable dampers fitted to my Mini since 1996 and I've not had any problems.

Got spax upfront on mine and it made a good difference I feel.

Tom is running gaz ones and his car sits and handles well.

The only types of shock absorber you can get are the rubber donuts, the coil spring replacements, or the coils in a coilover kit.

If you want to know about dampers, then Protech would get my vote, then Spax. Gas-a-just are a very very good basic uprated damper too.

Ive got KYB gas-a-just ones, they replaced my original ones which were completely knackered, but they made a hell of a difference!!

You know I ment dampers jammy. Anyway are adjustable dampers worth it? Can you adjust them to be harder than uprated ones?

I would say adjustable dampers are uprated ones.

But yes adjustable dampers can be adjusted to rock hard settings if you want to use them on a race circuit.

Just the stiffness, for adjustable height you need hi-lo's which replace the trumpets.

Second that regarding Protech, billet rather than welded bottom eyes and they look real priddy too ;-)
