the 3000 is superb for colour and clear with a 1.4.
primer is usually done with an older kestrel or GTI replica.

right, back when i was t college we used a sealey s701 hvlp suction feed gun for priming. this came with a 1.8mm needle and cap setup. there are smaller needles you could buy for it. the gun only cost around £30 or so.
i alsohave a sharpe platinum hvlp topcoat gun. unsure what the needle size is tho. this is a fairly popular gun over in australia and newzealand, and in some shops in the states. it competes with devilbiss and sata for quality, and has earnt me a fair amount of money doing private work.
i have a 2 hp, 50ltr compressor which although isnt big can cope with small paint jobs. it copes with both of my guns. i havnt attempted to see how long a full respray would take at home on it but depending on circumstances i may be painting my entire project with it.
as and when i get the time i will be linking up the 2 small 1.5 hp 25 ltr compressors to the 2 hp one to give it a bit of extra. these will go through 1 main regulator to help control the air flow. its still in the planning stage at the moment so i dont know if this will be suitable yet.
