Boot Seal...

hi all!

Might jsut be me but boot clips that hold the seal in place are *rubbish*! can i put the other type on or is there anything sticky i can putround the seal to help it stay in place?

You can fit the other type that clips to the back panel. But if you do it will be a VERY tight fit to close the boot until the new seal has got used to being compressed. It's a right battle to get the lid closed at first.

Sticky stuff to help the old seal.... double sided tape underneath :D both surfaces will need to be spotlessley clean beofre applying sticky stuff.

I've put a couple of the old type seals on recently so might be able to offer some tips.

It's much easier with the bootlid on a bench table etc so you can spin it round and get to all the clips. Then I put clip into the rubber seal before offering it up to the hole. Then while holding the clip into the rubber push it hard home into the hole using some sort of blunt round thing (like the wrong end of a screw driver).

This is the technique I used and seemed to work ok. :thumbsup:
