Hi
I have a 1993 mini rio 1275 and i have lost all drive to the wheels, I can select all gears and the clutch is a in good condition and working properly, I lost drive whilst driving at about 40 in 4th and now it just makes a wiring noise when ever i try to pull away, any help would be greatly appreciated.
Cheers

has one of driveshafts come apart from the cv joint?
or it could be the gearbox is jamming
have u changed anything on the car recently?

could be one or two things may be three , clutch disc has been stripped from its centre splined hub or you have snapped the shaft that should be holding the diff pinion , diff output spline stripped - into pod joint , none are easy to pin point without some stripdown ,

Not changed anything and drive shafts are both ok, I can still push the car, would i be able to do that if the gear box had jammed?

can you engage any gears without using the clutch peddle ??? if yes i'd go for the disc has been shredded - not that uncommon .

Thanks for your help looks like I'll have to do some stripdown.

Simple...
Drain the oil, if metal bits come out then it's the gearbox/diff...
If not suspect the clutch.
